At-Will Webinar: The Brain on Play: Neurobiologically Informed Approaches to Play Therapy
At Will Webinar
This webinar is available for participants to watch at will after purchase. Once the webinar is watched, participants will need to complete the webinar quiz and evaluation to obtain CEs.
As a play therapist, many of our clients, children to adults, have experienced overwhelming amounts of pain and distress during those crucial years of brain development. By taking a deeper dive into the brain, we will better understand how traumatic experiences can affect a person's ability to regulate and function in the playroom and beyond. In this training, participants will learn various play-based techniques to activate different parts of the brain to promote healthy development. Participants will also identify ways to help clients (and ourselves!) integrate simple neurobiologically-informed play therapy practices into a daily routine. Participants will:
- Identify play therapy interventions that target specific sensory and self-regulation needs for the developing brain in children with acute and traumatic stress.
- Discuss play therapy interventions and activities that promote relational health.
- Execute play therapy techniques that assist in redirecting and regulating dysregulated children in the playroom and beyond.
