Play Therapy with Military Families
The US military is a unique culture that not only includes five active duty branches; it also includes veterans, retirees, reservists, and Guard. There are similarities and differences within this culture that result in strengths and challenges for children and families. This workshop will provide you a greater understanding of this unique and diverse culture and specific play therapy approaches and interventions when working with this population. Participants will:
- Analyze the unique culture and cultural differences among military families and children and their application to play therapy.
- Learn how to enhance their sand tray and play therapy resources to ensure inclusivity for military families and children.
- Discover specific play therapy interventions and tools to use when working with military families and children.
