Addressing Suicide in Play Therapy

Suicide is an issue that affects people of all race, genders, ethnicities, socioeconomic status, age and sexual orientation. As mental health professionals & play therapists, we have a duty to clients of all ages to effectively identify, document and treat clients who are at risk of harming themselves. This 3-hour workshop will provide professionals with play therapy skills to provide ethically-sound support to clients through the use of the play therapy process. Attendees will learn how to identify issues of self-harm in a child’s play as well as play therapy interventions that can be implemented to support safety both in and out of the playroom.

Please note: *Attendees are reminded that registration for a training must be cancelled within 48 hours of payment in order to receive a FULL refund* To request a change to a training, please email us at stlplaytherapy@gmail.com. Cancellations that are made seven days before the training date will given the option for either a refund less a $25 administration fee or a credit towards a future training. The refund amount will be for the amount paid for the training less a $25 administration fee. All refunds will be mailed 60 days after request. For persons requesting a credit, they will receive an individualized code for the amount to be used for a future training.
Trainings will be held at: 1123 Locust St, St. Louis, MO 63101. All half day trainings run from either 9 AM to 12:00 PM OR 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Please note that while many trainings are on Thursdays and Fridays, in an effort to accommodate requests, some trainings fall on different days of the week.
